Back in 2020, right after sweeping the Grammy Awards and taking home five major trophies — including Album, Record, and Song of the Year — Billie celebrated her success with her first-ever tattoo.
“I did get a tattoo, but you won’t ever see it,” she told Vanity Fair at the time.
The singer, who once said she only wanted tattoos “that barely anyone can see,” has kept that promise for years. Fans knew the tattoo existed — they just didn’t know where it was.

That all changed when Annabel Zimmer, daughter of Oscar-winning film composer Hans Zimmer, shared a sunny snapshot on Instagram featuring Billie relaxing outdoors.
In the casual photo, Billie was smiling, her hair pulled back, wearing sunglasses and a bikini — and just below the strap of her bikini top, a small piece of black script could be seen peeking through.
Fans with eagle eyes immediately noticed what appeared to be the long-rumored tattoo.
While the image didn’t reveal every detail, it confirmed what Rolling Stone had once reported — that the secret tattoo is her name written in ornate gothic-style lettering.
Her Growing Tattoo Collection
Since that first hidden design, Billie has expanded her tattoo collection with several meaningful additions.
In 2021, she revealed two new tattoos — including delicate fairies on her hand, inspired by her favorite childhood book Fairyopolis.
“They’re like my little guardian angel fairies,” she explained at the time.
She also debuted a large dragon tattoo across her waist, which she later showed off on Instagram, calling it her “big boy” tattoo.
