Baby Born With Snow-White Hair Stuns Everyone at Birth

When a baby is born, parents are usually eager to see whether the little one looks more like mom or dad. But when Bence was born in Székesfehérvár, Hungary, his parents and doctors were left speechless.

Unlike most newborns who either arrive bald or with dark fuzzy hair, Bence came into the world with a thick head of pure snow-white hair. Nurses quickly gave him a nickname — “Prince Charming” — because of his striking appearance.

Parents Feared Albinism at First

At first, doctors worried that Bence might have albinism, a condition where the body produces little to no melanin, the pigment responsible for skin, hair, and eye color. People with albinism can live healthy lives, but they are more sensitive to sunlight and at higher risk for skin issues.

After running tests, however, doctors confirmed that Bence did not have albinism. Instead, he was simply born with very low melanin levels, which gave his hair the unique snowy-white color.

Healthy and Unique

Despite the unusual look, Bence was perfectly healthy and born on schedule. Doctors explained that his hair color would likely darken over the years as melanin production increased.

Dr. Zoltan Kummer described the condition as a temporary pigment shortage, meaning Bence’s hair may eventually change shades as he grows.

“Prince of the White Castle”

Coincidentally, the city where Bence was born, Székesfehérvár, is also called Fehérvár, which translates to “white castle” in Hungarian. Locals joked that he was like a little king of the white castle.

His rare look quickly made headlines around the world, and his story spread across social media. Today, millions know him as the “baby with snow-white hair” — a child born looking like a fairytale prince.
