A late-night pool party in Mountain View, near Hickory, North Carolina, turned into a scene of chaos after a shooting left one person dead and eleven others injured, authorities reported.
According to the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to Walnut Acres Drive shortly after 12:45 a.m. following multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire.
Details of the Incident
Approximately 100 guests, including children, were attending the pool party when gunfire erupted outside the home. Witnesses described scenes of panic as shots rang out across the front and back yards, even reaching a neighboring property. Guests scrambled for safety while law enforcement rushed to the scene.
