Ingredients

  • 12 ounces pasta (penne or rigatoni work best)

  • 1 pound Italian sausage, sliced

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1 cup chicken broth

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Pasta

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook pasta until al dente, drain, and set aside.

Step 2: Brown the Sausage & Vegetables

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook sausage until browned, then set aside. In the same skillet, sauté onions until translucent, then add garlic and mushrooms. Cook until mushrooms are tender.

Step 3: Make the Creamy Sauce

Stir in the heavy cream and chicken broth. Let simmer until slightly thickened. Add Parmesan, oregano, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

Step 4: Combine & Bake

Return pasta and sausage to the skillet, coating everything in the sauce. Transfer to a greased baking dish. Sprinkle mozzarella evenly on top.

Step 5: Bake & Serve

Bake for 20–25 minutes, until the cheese is melted and golden brown. Rest for a few minutes, garnish with parsley, and serve warm.
