What Happened Inside the Church?
On September 28, 2025, chaos erupted at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when the suspect, identified as 40-year-old Thomas Jacob Sanford of Burton, drove his truck into the church, opened fire, and set the building on fire.
Firefighters battled the blaze for nearly an hour before extinguishing it, but the church was left in ruins. Authorities fear more victims may still be inside.
